For the Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Antisemitism, it is important to increase awareness of Jewish life in Germany. The history of Jews in Germany is often reduced to the years of persecution under the National Socialist regime, but it actually extends all the way back to the fourth century A.D. Dr Klein strives to draw greater attention to the diversity of Jewish life today and to Jews' impressive contributions to science, medicine, literature, music and art in Germany.
